| Arches National Park, near Moab,
Utah, contains enough arches to satisfy most any desire to see
arches. It will save you a lot of driving and time to see those
scattered throughout eastern Utah. The first 20 or so arches one
sees leaves one shaking their head in marvel at the work of Mother
Nature. Much more than that, they become just another
picture. They can be delicate or massive, they can be towering
above or surrounding one, they can even be in pairs and sets. One
trip will probably be enough, but one trip should be taken.
Sandstone erosion is constantly both destroying and creating the
arches. |
